It takes 48 hours to process a request for medication. All requests must be in writing or submitted through Patient Access. This is to make sure no mistakes are made and that you receive the medication you need.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
Instead of printing out your prescription for you to collect, we can send it electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. To set this up, please inform a receptionist which pharmacy you would like to nominate.
Ordering through your Pharmacist
Barnet patients can ask pharmacies to order their prescriptions on their behalf, by filling out a form. Once completed, you can order your prescription by calling your pharmacist who will tell you when your medication will be ready to collect.
If you take regular medications, you will be due for an annual review appointment during the month of your birthday. There are some conditions that require more frequent monitoring. You can find your review date on your prescription.
Please contact the surgery with plenty of time to arrange a routine appointment. If your medication review is overdue, we will not be able to issue your prescription until you have booked your review appointment.
Please note that the doctors may not be able to convert medications prescribed privately into NHS prescriptions, in line with NHS guidelines. If this is the case, you may wish to buy your medication at a private hospital or discuss an alternative with your consultant. It can take up to 5 working days to convert a private prescription.
We regret to inform you that Watling Medical Centre is no longer in a position to accept patients’ sharps bins.
