Appointments
Appointments are released at 8.30am every day.
The fastest way to book an appointment is through online access. You can also make an appointment by calling the surgery. Waiting outside the surgery might make your symptoms worse. We strongly encourage you to book online or call for an appointment.
For non-urgent conditions, long-term conditions and medication reviews we recommend booking pre-bookable appointments which are available two to three weeks in advance.
Triage Telephone Calls
We also offer telephone assessments, where our duty doctor will call you to discuss your medical problem. They may ask you to come to the practice if you need to be examined. We also offer appointments that you can book up to three weeks in advance.
Appointment Availability
If no appointments are available, our receptionists may offer you an appointment at another practice. If this is not possible, they will recommend attending the walk-in centre.

Minor Illness Clinics
There are a number of conditions that can be treated by our highly trained nurse practitioners. Appointments for our Minor Illness clinics are released at the same time as appointments with our doctors and can be booked over the phone or in person.
Appointment Length and Translation
An appointment with a doctor is 10 minutes long. We are a training practice. An appointment with a GP registrar may be longer. An appointment with a nurse is 15 minutes long.
A telephone interpreting service is available. Please let the receptionist know which language you need assistance with when you book your appointment.
If you have more than one issue to discuss or require interpreting services, please book a double appointment.
Appointments at another practice
We are part of Barnet Federated GPs, which allows our patients access to evening and weekend appointments across the borough. Receptionists may offer you one of these appointments. You can also book these appointments by calling:
Mon – Fri: 6.30pm and 9pm
Sat – Sun: 8am – 8pm weekends
Please note, if you need help with a chronic condition or need support with your mental health, it is best for you to see your regular doctor.
Cancelling an appointment
If we have your up to date mobile phone number, we will send you a text reminder the working day before your appointment. You can reply to this text to cancel your appointment. You can also cancel your appointment using your Patient Access account.
Alternatively, call the practice to cancel your appointment as soon as possible to allow another patient access to medical support. 40 – 60 patients do not attend appointments without letting us know each week.
NHS 111
If you are worried about an urgent medical problem, you can call NHS 111, who will be able to advise you about what kind of treatment is right for you.

Baby clinics
There are special clinics for babies to receive their immunisations on Tuesdays at Stanmore and Mondays at Burnt Oak. Each appointment lasts 5mins. To help the clinic run on time, please ensure your child is ready to receive their injections by removing extra layers of clothing.
